Seated on a low stool, Ewe fisherman Dzobo Sebastian weaves the first row of the tongue (exa woade) for a basketry fish trap (exa). He weaves with pounded dried and twisted vine rope (adzɔ ƒoƒo), separating each bamboo (pamplo ti) stick with three twists of rope. He draws sticks from the pile in front of him as he works and uses his toes to hold the sticks in place as he weaves. Akanyakrom, Banda District, Ghana.
