Workshop at the Kurdish Textile Museum

This space is part of the Kurdish Textile Museum at the Erbil Citadel. The photographed space was a workshop where people could learn various Kurdish textile crafts, among them felt-making. Wasta Salih, the last felt-maker from Erbil, who passed away in 2021, was making felt at the workshop and some of his tools, felt rugs and felt hats appear in the photograph. Due to lack of funding and budget, no work is being done at the workshop, and it is left in a deteriorating state.
