This video follows AN6, a Rohingya singer and artist, as he prepares Japani Mash Salun (Tilapia fish curry) with AN7. Alongside the flavourful fish dish, AN7 also cooks Mula Saak (radish greens), creating a simple yet nourishing meal for their family. Seated on the floor, they share the food together, embodying the warmth and unity of traditional Rohingya dining. Beyond cooking, the film delves into AN6’s deep longing for his homeland, Myanmar. As he sings, "How many more years must we live in another’s land? Perhaps we will never regain the peace and happiness of our homeland," his voice echoes the pain of displacement and the collective sorrow of the Rohingya people. Through food and music, this documentary paints a poignant portrait of resilience, nostalgia, and the enduring hope for a return to their motherland.
