Closing the pottery kiln in Phù Mỹ village 3/3

The kiln has been lit for more than 4h and the potter flames can now be seen over the walls of the kiln. While Bùi Thị Lệ and Trương Thị Hoa are loading leaves in the fire to intensify the flames, Nguyễn Tấn Ánh and Nguyễn Thị Phương the potters insert pieces of wood in the gaps of the third layer of the kiln, to help the flames to go even higher and make sure that the pots on the very top are well fired. They then seal the gaps with tiles and a mix of straw and muddy clay. When the flames reach the top, they stop adding fuel to the fire.
