Shortly after work on the two earth-wall structures built on the grounds of the Banda Cultural Centre was complete, EMKP project members hosted a visit to building site by members of the Banda Traditional Council. The delegation, led by Gyasehene Tolɛɛ Yaw Sienyono, included Queen Mother Lelԑԑ Akosua Kepefu. At the outset community researcher Enoch Mensah and EMKP researcher Zonke Guddah place the female (kpra) and male (janda) doors woven by David Katakyie over the entrances of the coursed earth atakpame and the wattle-and-daub buildings respectively. Women apply a final waterproofing cow dung solution over the plastered walls. Project members greet the elders after they are seated, after which Enoch Mensah introduces the knowledge holders and artisans who worked on buildings and their furnishings. Elders then file through and admire the buildings. The porch of the wattle-and-daub building is staged with traditional containers. After viewing the buildings, the elders are seated as the Gyasehene offers words of appreciation for the project's contributions. Banda-Ahenkro, Banda District, Ghana.
