Grinding clay in Quế An village (2/2) : Mechanical grinding

Giang Ngọc Xanh, the potter’s husband uses a machine to mechanically ground the clay into powder. The machine includes a sieve that ensure the powder will be thin enough. GNX collects the powder in bags to transport it in another room, where he lays it down in a pile. This steps exists only since 1995 when the village first got electricity. Before that, the clay was hammered into powder and sieved with a bamboo fibre sieve.
