Making a round felt rug with patterns

Salim Ali makes a round felt with patterns on a reed mat. He first sprinkles water on the mat before placing the pattern and the carded wool. The pattern is made with dyed wool and natural black wool; the side with the pattern is the front of the felt. After the pattern is covered with carded wool, the soapy water is sprinkled on the wool before it is rolled in the reed mat.
