Making offering in Phù Mỹ village

The kiln has been prefired and made ready for the firing. While Trương Thị Hoa starts the fire, Nguyễn Tấn Ánh prays in front of the offering tray. The prayer is made to the ancestor of the craft in the village (ông tổ), and to the funders of the workshop: NTP’s grand father. When the prayer is done, he sticks the incense in the pot of sand. The offerings are left for around 5 minuts. Afterwards,Nguyễn Tấn Ánh burns the fake money and paper offerings in a broken pots. When the offerings are burnt, he prays again in front of the altar, takes back the incense sticks and proceed to plant them between two bricks of the kiln’s wall. The flowers are attached to one of the roof’s pilar and the food is eaten by the workers during a break.
