To preform the bottom, Y Gah sits in front of the house with the pot on her knees, the opening facing her left. She puts her left hand inside and in her right hand, she holds a ring (of around 5cm in diameter) made of a thin slice of bamboo , called kong. She uses it to scrape the sides of the bottom, taking out clay to round the edges. Then, With her left hand on the inside, she start to push out the bottom. At the same time, she uses her right hand’s fingers to scrape the bottom from the outside to erase the cracks created by the pushing. She also adds a bit of clay, to fill in the gaps and make the surface more even
