The pots are fired in an open fire. Ma Ly places a few pieces of wood on the floor to create a platform on which she places the pots. She also inserts pieces of woods in between the objects creating a structure with a random shape. When she has placed all the pots, she places pieces of wood all around the structure in a teepee shape.

Temporality

Firing is usually done at the end of the day, around 4PM, as the wind usually calms down at that time. The firing usually lasts 2 hours for a small firing. Large firing can last up to 6 hours. However, during our documentation, to prevent the firing to be too long, Ma Ly had prefired the bigger pots. Thus, the firing only took 45minuts.
