Nafana traditional door weaver,David Katakyie sits on a bench as he trims strips cut from raffia palm petioles to desired size. These strips will be used to weave the male traditional door (janda) for one of the two earthen houses being built at the Banda Cultural Center. The artisan cuts raffia strips by measuring each against pre-cut strips. Sometimes he snaps them with his fingers to get two strips. He sets the trimmed strips on the ground. EMKP researcher Zonke Guddah and community researcher Enoch Mensah behind the camera engage in conversation with him about the activity during the making session. Sabiye, Banda District, Ghana.
