Vahid Ohran (1) places a board on the wheel then takes a large lump of clay and makes a ball. He then places it on the board and starts to flatten the lump into a large oval shape. He then places a paper cut-out of the oval shape and roughly cuts around it. He starts to pinch the edges upwards and defines the shape. He then takes long strips of clay and adds height to the incipient walls of the oval dish. Vahid then uses a wooden tool with a nail to cut the dish to the right height and smooths the edges.
